Begali

The family-run winery Begali represents a wine excellence of Valpolicella, an area that, since its inception in 1943, has contributed to its enhancement. It was Giordano Begali who founded the estate located in Cengia, a small village in the municipality of San Pietro in Cariano, in the heart of Valpolicella Classica. The name Cengia derives from the homonymous rocks adjacent to the hamlet. Today, it is the son Lorenzo with his wife Adriana and grandchildren Giordano and Tiliana who manage the winery, in a close-knit family picture personally involved in all aspects of production, from the vineyard to the final marketing.

The Begali estate extends over 12 hectares of vineyards, cultivated with absolute respect for the ecosystem and biodiversity, adopting the principles of integrated pest management to minimize environmental impact. The plants are rooted in predominantly clay-limestone soils, located between hilly and foothill areas where the traditional varieties of Valpolicella are cultivated, namely Corvina Veronese, Corvinone, Rondinella and Oseleta. The winemaking approach is traditional, with few interventions aimed at favoring the most authentic expression of the territory. The aging of the wines mostly takes place in oak barrels of different capacities, including barriques, tonneaux, and large casks.

The focus of the Begali winery's production is the Amarone della Valpolicella, a noble red wine that has gained the favor of enthusiasts and critics worldwide over time due to its remarkable complexity and structure. In particular, the Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva 'Monte Ca' Bianca', named after the homonymous terraced vineyard exposed to the south, represents the most representative and prestigious label of the estate, capable of captivating the senses with its depth and expressive breadth. The Valpolicella Classico, particularly in the Superiore and Ripasso types, are more dynamic and immediate, representing true and modern interpretations of the denomination.
