Bodega Noemia

Río Negro River, which transforms its valley into a lush oasis of green in the midst of an arid steppe. The estate is located in an area characterized by the presence of ancient alluvial soils, draining and very suited for viticulture. The climate is bright and sunny, always very windy and with strong temperature variations between day and night. The development of agriculture and viticulture in this desolate region is due to the hydraulic works designed by engineer Cesare Cipolletti, who in the early 1900s worked to try to exploit the Limay, Neuquén, and Río Negro rivers, increasing their flow with a complex and extensive system of canals, which still allows today to irrigate the Valle del Río Negro and also the vineyards of Bodega Noemia.

In addition to the old Malbec vineyard planted in 1932, which constitutes the historical core of the company and the memory of the territory, other vineyards of Malbec, Pinot Noir, and Cabernet Sauvignon have been planted on the estate. The still virgin ecosystem immediately led to the choice of a biological farming regime, respectful of the surrounding nature and in line with the company philosophy, aimed at producing sincere and straightforward wines, capable of directly transferring into the glass the aromas of the grape and the characteristics of the terroir. All harvests are carried out manually, the vinifications are simple, often made with indigenous yeasts, and take place in large open wooden vats, in concrete tanks, or in stainless steel tanks. For aging, 600-liter oak barrels and barriques are used, with 15% new wood each year.
