Château Feuillet

Château Feuillet represents the small winemaking reality of Maurizio Fiorano, a producer of Piedmontese origin transplanted in Valle d'Aosta, distinguished by his calm and composed character, never over the top. After living in Milan, Maurizio moved with his wife to her hometown, Saint-Pierre, continuing his career as a surveyor until, in 1997, he decided to embark on an unexpected winemaking adventure by dedicating himself to managing a few small vineyards from his wife’s family. After all, Maurizio has winemaking tradition in his blood since his grandfather Tinet produced wine for personal consumption in the 1960s. In a short time, what began almost by chance transformed into a real activity, and over the years Maurizio established new plantings while maintaining the limited character of the estate.

The owned vineyard hectares of Château Feuillet are just 8, dedicated both to local grape varieties such as Petit Rouge, Fumin, Petite Arvine, Cornalin, Mayolet, and Moscato Bianco, as well as to international varieties such as Merlot, Pinot Nero, Chardonnay, Syrah, and Cabernet. The vines are located on small plots planted on sandy and granitic soils of morainic origin, at altitudes between 700 and 800 meters above sea level. Furthermore, the rows enjoy an excellent southeast exposure, a wide amount of annual sunlight hours, and significant temperature excursions between day and night, a factor that favors optimal aromatic and phenolic maturation of the grapes. In the field, the work is carried out entirely by hand following a sustainable approach aimed at minimizing environmental impact. After manual harvesting, the bunches are transferred to the winery and vinified in stainless steel tanks, with malolactic fermentation taking place only on the reds. The subsequent maturation periods always occur in steel or in barriques and large oak barrels, depending on the wine in question.
