Corda Antonella

The winery of Antonella Corda is a young island reality in Serdiana, a small town in the inland of southern Sardinia, a few kilometers from Cagliari. A winemaking knowledge that has been passed down for 3 generations and that Antonella, belonging to the renowned Argiolas family, inherited, revived, and then deepened during her studies in agricultural sciences and technologies at the University of Sassari and a specialization in Trentino in the management of viticultural and winemaking systems. A genuine recipe, which can be defined as family, as also stated on the labels "from mother to daughter", based on simple and effective values: the passion for work, love for the land, and respect for traditions. Once she finished her studies, Antonella did nothing but use these principles to found her estate in the recent 2010, right in her motherland. Serdiana is indeed a territory particularly suited for agriculture and covered with centuries-old olive groves, fields of cereals, flourishing orchards, and above all spectacular vineyards. These last ones are precisely those that manage to draw from these lands all its nuances, giving typical wines of extreme quality.

Antonella Corda, helped by her husband Christian, cultivates the most typical indigenous grapes of this land: Cannonau, Vermentino, and Nuragus. She knows well that to obtain healthy and pure fruits, one must start from the work in the vineyard, which must be respectful and sustainable, using organic fertilizers, natural irrigation, and renewable energies. The cultivated lands extend over an area of about 40 hectares, of which 15 are exclusively dedicated to vine cultivation. The vineyard most dear to grandfather Antonio Argiolas is Mitza Manna, extending over about 6 hectares and located at about 200 meters above sea level on limestone, sandy, and clayey soils, where white grape varieties dominate. Cannonau, on the other hand, grows in the Mitza S’Ollastum vineyard where the soils are of loamy and sandy origin, characterized by a large quantity of pebbles. In the winery, modern equipment, steel tanks, and new wooden barrels are used.

The wines of Antonella Corda are convincing, smooth, pleasant, and decidedly typical. They taste of Sardinia and the sea breezes that rise from the Tyrrhenian Sea. Territorial and Mediterranean experiences that impress with their agile and full drinkability, rich in nuances and aromas.
