Endemic

Endemic is an innovative project that was born in Spain thanks to the Ferrer Gallego winery, with the intention of producing organic wines with an artisanal character from grapes sourced from century-old vines cultivated in the La Garcia area. The winery's philosophy is focused on enhancing the oldest traditions of the territory. The work is carried out through a commitment to preserving the agro-cultural heritage using winemaking practices inherited from previous generations, who have cultivated these lands for centuries. The underlying idea is not to disperse the knowledge of fathers and grandfathers, but to apply and pass it on to future generations.

The initiative was born from the collaboration of three brothers, who grew up among the rows of vines in the village of Jaraguas, located inland from the city of Valencia. Despite their different academic backgrounds: Miguel Ángel has always taken care of the vineyard, Pablo is a doctor in biological sciences, and Raúl is a physician and technical agricultural engineer and winemaker, the three brothers have been able to share their skills and have cemented their love for their land and for the vine. The estate is located in the Utiel-Requena region and occupies a plateau at an altitude of about 750 meters above sea level. It is a rural area always dedicated to viticulture.

The climate is influenced by a dual regime, continental and Mediterranean. Summers are very hot and dry, while winters are long and cold, with very harsh temperatures. The temperature variations are very high, both between the seasons and between day and night temperatures. The soils are calcareous, with abundant presence of sand, clay and little organic matter. The vineyards cover about 15 hectares and boast the presence of very old vines, which produce few clusters per plant, but of exceptional quality. The vineyards are managed under certified organic farming, without the use of chemicals. Even in the winery, the processes are carried out very simply, with spontaneous fermentations and indigenous yeasts. Thus, artisanal wines are born that perfectly represent the oldest customs of the territory.
