Familia Zuccardi
The Zuccardi Family is one of the most important and prestigious realities of Argentine wine. The origins of the estate date back to the early 1960s, when Alberto Zuccardi planted the first vines in Maipú, near Mendoza. Today, at the helm of the company is Sebastián Zuccardi, who represents the third generation of the family and manages a property with numerous powers, producing wines of excellent quality. The Zuccardi labels are consistently among the best excellences of the Mendoza region and more generally of the country, thanks to a range of vineyards located in particularly suited positions and to a very careful and meticulous work in the cellar, aimed at always highlighting the grapes and the character of the terroir.
The Zuccardi estate is located in the beautiful area of the Uco Valley, right at the foot of the majestic peaks of the Andes Mountains. The climate is cool, breezy, and characterized by significant temperature variations. The property is divided into various farms, each with particular characteristics, allowing, Albariño, Semillon, and Riesling. Finca Las Cerrilladas is located at about 1300 meters and has stony and gravelly soils, which are very draining, hosting: Malbec, Cabernet Franc, and Chardonnay. The Finca Aguas del Las Jarillas has characteristics similar to the previous one and is intended for the production of the same grapes. The vinifications take place inside a modern winery inaugurated in 2016 and built with natural materials, with stone and concrete walls, and hosts the egg-shaped concrete tanks used for fermentations.
