Langlois Chateau
The French winery Langlois-Chateau, located in the Anjou-Saumur area, is specialized in the production of Crémants de Loire, sparkling wines made using the Classic Method that are known for their great dynamism and pleasantness produced in the Loire Valley. The origins of the estate date back to 1885 when it was founded as Maison Delandes, while the current name was given in 1912 with the acquisition by Edouard Langlois and Jeanne Chateau, hence Langlois-Chateau. The exceptional sparkling aptitude of the Domaine was significantly shaped by the contribution of the Bollinger group, which acquired the majority of the property in 1973.
The vineyards of Domaine Langlois-Chateau extend over 95 hectares, mainly located in the Saumur and Saumur-Champigny areas, with the remaining part located in the Sancerre area. In the first territories, the soils are clayey and chalky characterized by an abundant presence of tuffeau, a sandy limestone rock, while in Sancerre flint predominates. The vineyard area is entirely certified in sustainable agriculture.sustainable and of these over 30 hectares are certified organic. Among the varieties grown, Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Franc, and Sauvignon Blanc stand out, associated with smaller percentages of Chardonnay, Melon de Bourgogne, Pinot Noir, and Grolleau. The winery is equipped with the most modern technologies in the industry, from sorting tables to temperature-controlled tanks, passing through pneumatic presses. The grapes destined for the Crémants come from the most suitable plots of the estate, vinified separately and then blended according to their characteristics, always seeking two fundamental attributes that define the signature of Langlois-Chateau: freshness and elegance.
As highlighted, the production of Langlois-Chateau is based on Crémants de Loire sparkling wines, made in different types and styles, some more accessible and others more complex, all however united by a beautiful finesse. However, there are also fine white, rosé, and still red wines produced with the traditional grape varieties of the Loire Valley.
