Miotti Firmino

Firmino Miotti is an authentic winemaker, active for over 70 years in Breganze, in the pulsating wine heart of the province of Vicenza. He took the reins of the family winery at a young age in the 1950s, after the premature death of his father, and, over decades of activity, has significantly contributed to the enhancement of the territory, becoming a reference point for many generations. Today Firmino continues to take care of the vineyards, with the awareness that viticulture is "an art that requires meticulous attention and total dedication," while his daughter Franca is in charge of the winery. From this family synergy arises one of the most interesting productions of Veneto, which includes, in addition to the famous Torcolato di Breganze and interpretations of international grape varieties, ancient and forgotten varieties such as Gruaia, Pedevendo, and Marzemina Bianca, which would otherwise have been lost over time.

The Firmino Miotti winery has always been linked to the ancient wine traditions of the Breganze area, a village of just over 8,000inhabitants located on a volcanic hill. The family vineyards, situated in the heart of the Breganze denomination, are rooted in red soils with volcanic and basaltic rocks. The vines are cultivated using the spurred cordon and Guyot methods and are aged between 20 and 70 years. In this place, the traditions of the territory blend with those of the Miotti family, which has contributed to shaping and enhancing over many years of passionate work.

The wines of Firmino Miotti are authoritative and rigorous witnesses of the Breganze terroir. The limited but highly diversified production is led by the famous Torcolato. The red wines are vinified in steel after a short drying of the grapes, mature in oak barrels, and are capable of expressing themselves with great character, especially after years of aging in the bottle. They possess depth and harmony, always well-measured even in their most authentic peculiarities, such as those of Gruajo, characterized by a certain roughness that will surely captivate lovers of artisanal and territorial wines.
