Nervi

At the foot of Monte Rosa, in the beautiful Piedmontese area of Gattinara, lies the Nervi winery, the oldest wine estate in the area with over a century of history, having been founded back in 1906. The fundamental principles that have always guided the production of this wine reality are two: typicity and tradition. In 2018, after 6 years of consulting, the famous producer Roberto Conterno acquired 90% of the estate, creating a new, modern, and beautiful winery and renovating the historic one, which is now reserved for the wine archive. At the same time, the style of the labels was renewed while respecting the traditional design. Furthermore, the spaces once used as a shop and offices have been transformed into a luxurious restaurant: Cucine Nervi.

The Nervi Conterno winery has 27 hectares of vineyards, planted on loose soils rich in volcanic porphyries. The climate is cool and dry, characterized by significant temperature variations between day and night that allow for the accumulation of large quantities of aromatic precursors.in the grapes. The estate's production is focused on Nebbiolo, locally called Spanna, the grape variety of choice for the area that Roberto Conterno has already widely demonstrated he can handle superbly, although the area presents significant differences compared to Monforte d'Alba, a municipality of Barolo where the famous and prestigious Giacomo Conterno winery is located. In the case of Gattinara, the fermentations take place in oak vats and in concrete tanks, and the masses are subsequently transferred to oak barrels for prolonged aging. The entire processing aims to enhance the unique and precious characteristics that the Gattinara territory imparts to Nebbiolo.

Nervi offers this black grape variety in different forms, including a Metodo Classico sparkling wine, a still rosé, and, of course, the reds. The selection includes the prestigious crus ‘Vigna Molsino’ and ‘Vigna Valferana’, expressions at the highest quality level of the Gattinara denomination. The common thread that links the different labels is represented by the sublime class and refined
