Sandrone Luciano
Luciano Sandrone is a name of excellence in the world of Barolo, as well as a synonym for quality recognized internationally. Together with his daughter Barbara and his brother Luca, the winery's oenologist assisted by Luciano himself, he continues to produce wines with an unmistakable style, inaugurated by the legendary vintage of 1978 that brought him into the spotlight at Vinitaly in 1981.
The fascinating winery is located at the foot of Barolo and is equipped with photovoltaic panels, a small gesture that can show how attentive the Sandrone family is to the environment and the preservation of the territory. In the vineyards of the Langhe of Luciano Sandrone, cultivated with the Guyot system, not weeded and obviously dominated by Nebbiolo grapes, the yields always adhere to very low levels, while the cultivation follows organic guidelines, but without official certifications. Among his 27 hectares, we find historic crus, such as Cannubi Boschis, just two hectares of 35-year-old vineyard located on calcareous and clayey soils, or Vignane, where some of the most famous and desired Barolos of Luciano come to light.
The the particularity of the entire Sandrone range is the marked territoriality of its wines, produced using only indigenous yeasts, mostly aged in French oak tonneaux and with macerations that last around two weeks. The consistency in the quality of each bottle is commendable and not only in those of Barolo: interesting are also the Barbera and Dolcetto d'Alba. The Sandrone style is unique, innovative, refined, and fruit-driven: impossible not to stop by its taste.
