Tenuta di Salviano

Tenuta di Salviano is a winery located in Civitella del Lago, in the province of Terni, overlooking the stunning landscape of Lake Corbara and the Tevere River Park. Its origins are very ancient. The buildings of Tenuta di Salviano and the Castello di Titignano date back to the medieval period and were built by the Montmarte family. During the 19th century, the property passed into the hands of the Corsini family and became an important agricultural enterprise dedicated to the production of cereals, tobacco, olive oil, and wines, which were already known for their quality at the time. The turning point came in the second half of the 20th century with the marriage of Nerina Corsini to Enrico Incisa della Rocchetta, already a major figure in the Italian and global wine scene thanks to the production of the famous Sassicaia wine. Today, the estate is managed by Giovanni Incisa della Rocchetta and his wife Tara, who continue to enhance this splendid terroir and its wines.

Within the estate, both thenative varieties that have been present for centuries in the Lake Corbara area and some international grapes, which have adapted very well to the soil and climate conditions of the territory, are cultivated. The south shore of Lake Corbara, with its cooler climate, is particularly suited for the cultivation of white grape varieties: Grechetto, Chardonnay, Sémillon, and Sauvignon Blanc. The north shore, on the other hand, more sunny and mild, has proven more suitable for red grape varieties, particularly: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Nero, and Sangiovese. The vineyards are managed according to the principles of sustainable agriculture with minimal use of treatments, in line with the regulations of the Tevere River National Park.

The winery has always been committed to producing wines that are a clear expression of the territory and its traditions, with the aim of highlighting their unique qualities. The presence of Lake Corbara, in fact, creates a very particular microclimate, characterized by very mild temperatures throughout the year, which prevent both therisk of spring frosts and excessively hot days during the summer. The constant ventilation keeps the grapes always dry and healthy, allowing for excellent harvests with perfectly ripe and healthy grapes. The range of wines is wide and diverse, characterized by an elegant style, the result of careful and simple vinifications, in full respect of an excellent quality raw material.
