Tirelli

The Agricultural Company of Andrea Tirelli vinifies with passion on the Tortonesi Hills since 2003 and takes on the ambitious ideal of returning to the origins, that is to the respectful cult for nature and the land. In the founding year, he takes over the vineyards and the winery from his uncle Domenico and begins to cultivate 4 hectares of vineyards located in the municipalities of Costa Vescovato and Montale Celli, characterized by rich and geologically complex soils, rich in clays and limestones. The natural predisposition to viticulture of this environment is also to be identified in the uniqueness of the microclimate: the winds coming from the Ligurian Sea blow gently on the Tortonesi Hills, enclosed between the Alps and the Apennines.

Andrea Tirelli is also particularly attentive to the creation of a balanced eco-sustainable environment, so much so that he chooses as the logo of his winery the Triskele, an ancient symbol of Celtic origin that represents the elements earth, air, and water, united by energy in a dynamic swirling outward. This symbol encapsulates the idea of the agricultural and enological modeldeveloped by Andrea, that is to interpret nature and what it offers, without artificially modifying the fruits it gives, to bottle expressions of quality territory, healthy, genuine, and accessible to all.

The vineyards of Tirelli Andrea are worked according to the dictates of biodynamic agriculture, which naturally enriches the cultivated soil while respecting the environmental balance and giving the vines greater resistance to adversities. Only local autochthonous grape varieties of the Tortonese tradition such as Timorasso, Barbera, Freisa, Cortese, and Nibiò, a nearly unknown variety that derives from the Dolcetto grape family, are present, and they are transformed in the winery only through indigenous and spontaneous yeasts, with very low use of sulfites and no interventionist practices on the fermenting musts, resulting in genuine expressions of pure Tortonese terroir.
