Chardonnay Alois Lageder 2025
The Chardonnay by Alois Lageder is a refreshing and very fresh expression that is aged only in steel to enhance the varietal fragrances of the grape. A young and vibrant olfactory stamp emerges, where white fruit and citrus play the leading roles, accompanied by floral aromas and mineral accents. It flows easily in the mouth, highlighting a refreshing and intriguing salty-mineral note.
The Chardonnay by Alois Lageder is a beautiful young and fragrant version of this famous white grape variety, which in its homeland produces some of the best white wines in the world. It is a variety that arrived in Alto Adige from Burgundy during the 19th century and has often been confused with Pinot Bianco from the beginning. Fresh, aromatically very elegant and rich, it is one of the reference whites of the region, which the winery has decided to interpret in the sign of expressive purity, focusing entirely on the pleasant floral and fruity notes characteristic of the grape. It is an ideal wine to enjoy with seafood appetizers or dishes with delicate flavors.
The Chardonnay is one of the most successful labels of the Alois Lageder winery, among the whites it is the one that best interprets the ancient vocation of the territory to produce simple and pleasantly smooth young wines. It is a mountain Chardonnay, characterized by its particular geographical location, which naturally enhances its finesse and expressive elegance. The vineyards of Chardonnay are grown in the famous areas of Magrè, Cortaccia, Salorno, and Pochi at an altitude ranging from 230 to 500 meters above sea level. The predominantly sandy soils, rich in limestone, and the cool, breezy climate lead to the harvest of grapes with intense aromas. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Before bottling, the wine matures for 4 months on the fine lees in steel tanks.
The white Chardonnay Lageder is a wine that comes from a selection of grapes from vineyards historically linked to the winery for a long time and that work according to the same standards required in the estate's vineyards. In the glass, it presents a beautiful straw-yellow color with brilliant greenish reflections, which anticipates fragrant aromas of citrus, floral nuances, notes of white-fleshed fruit, peach, and tropical hints. We find the same aromatic palette on the palate, with expressive, juicy fruit, well supported by a lively mineral freshness. The mountain Chardonnay in its essential purity.
