Ca' Rugate
The Ca' Rugate winery, in the province of Verona, takes its name from the homonymous volcanic hill where most of the vineyards of the Tessari family are located. A long history with more than 100 years of activity that has been passed down from father to son for 4 generations, officially inaugurated by Amedeo Tessari (successor of Adele and then Fulvio Beo) and successfully carried on by his son Michele, who, while preserving ancient farming traditions, has brought innovation and modernity. The cultivated hectares are about 90 and extend into the Soave Classico area, Valpolicella, and the Lessini Mountains, territories that have always been an excellence for the production of the most important Venetian wines. Ca' Rugate winery cultivates its vineyards on land characterized by significant slopes and accessible only on foot, where every gesture and every task involves sacrifice, costs, and effort.
The principles on which Ca' Rugate is based are precision, innovation, and enhancement of the territory. First in the vineyard, where the hand-harvested grapes come from vines of different ages raised with great care and precision, under the coordination of Giampiero Romana. In Valpolicella, where altitudes reach 500 meters, the soils have a strong limestone component and host the most classic grapes of the area: Corvina, Rondinella, and Corvinone. The Lessini Mountains and the Soave area, on the other hand, have a volcanic conformation, do not exceed 300 meters in altitude, and are populated by indigenous varieties such as Durello and Garganega. To the potential that nature has offered to the Tessari family, we must also add the indissoluble bond that ties the Ca' Rugate winery to the Soave Classico territory, in the province of Verona, the respect for traditions, and the unconditional passion for the profession of winemakers.
The wines of Ca' Rugate reflect all the characteristics of their land of origin. Fresh and mineral, elegant and clean, they are also the result of the rigorous work carried out in the winery by the oenologist Beppe Caviola. A unique and fascinating range, with beautiful labels, that has contributed and continues to contribute to the enhancement of the Venetian territory.
