Chemin des Vignobles
Chemin des Vignobles is a project born from the visionary idea of two friends who decide to embark on the production of sparkling wines. It is said that Andrea Malgaroli and Mattia Parello, two young men who live and work in the wine world in a broad sense, on a starry night are struck by the power of the landscape offered by the vineyards of the village of Saint-Pierre and decide to give voice to their dream, effectively creating the first winery in Valle d'Aosta dedicated solely to the production of Metodo Classico. The reality takes physical form thanks to the involvement of two professionals of the caliber of Giorgio Anselmet and Elio Ottin, protagonists of viticulture in Valle d'Aosta. The name of the property recalls the natural and cultural itinerary that develops along two twin paths: in the region, between Aosta and Pont-Saint-Martin, and in the Swiss Valais between Sion and Martigny.
The winery of Chemin des Vignobles is located in Vereytod, a fraction of the village of Villeneuve that counts just over 1,200 souls in the heart of the region, at the meeting point between the Savara stream and the Dora Baltea, enclosed between the mountains at about 680 meters above sea level. The vineyards of Chardonnay and Prie Blanc are located just a bit further up, on the heights around the village of Saint-Pierre, the very residence of Maison Anselmet. The altitudes are significant and approach 700 meters in elevation: along the left bank of the Dora, the alluvial soils of glacial origin are poor in organic matter, forcing the vine to push its roots deep, and characterized by steep slopes above rocky soils, typically facing south. The work is necessarily all done by hand, within the framework of heroic viticulture that requires constant maintenance of the terraces, benefiting from a climate that offers significant temperature variations, scarce precipitation, and constant ventilation.
The vinifications of Chemin des Vignobles start from the classic white grape varieties for sparkling wine production in Valle d'Aosta: the international Chardonnay and the absolutely local Prie Blanc, which has become the emblem of the
