Testalonga - Antonio Perrino

The Testalonga - Antonio Perrino winery is a small family-run production reality, named after the current owner, Nino Perrino.  The setting in which Nino moves daily is centered around the small municipality of Dolceacqua, in the province of Imperia, in the western part of Liguria. A difficult terroir, where the roughness of the land represents a constant challenge, encountered daily, and where the work operations are carried out solely and exclusively by hand. An area that Nino knows like the back of his hand given the many harvests he has faced, making him an old-school garagiste, used to coming to terms with what nature gives him, day after day. The Testalonga - Antonio Perrino winery is characterized by a limited production of two labels, with romantic and vintage graphics, a sincere and straightforward expression of what for Nino is the terroir of Dolceacqua.

The vineyards of the Testalonga - Antonio Perrino winery stretch over an area no larger than two hectares, near the Ligurian village of Dolceacqua. Nino's vines are among the oldest in the entire area, and he tends to them with almost obsessive care. Among the rows, two grape varieties are cultivated that, right in this part of Liguria, find interesting qualitative peaks, Vermentino and Rossese. The latter red grape is particularly dear to Nino, who was the first winemaker in the area to dedicate himself to it body and soul, aware of its great potential. Among the rows, the operations are conducted manually, requiring a great sacrifice in terms of effort and hours of work. In the winery, Nino tries to maintain what the past vintage has gifted him in the vineyard, and the fermentations occur thanks to the presence of indigenous yeasts, without temperature control.

Nino, at the Testalonga - Antonio Perrino winery, is dedicated to the exclusive creation of two labels, a Rossese di Dolceacqua DOC and a wine based on Vermentino. Both announce themselves in the glass with strong sensations, where the correspondence between the aromas perceived by the nose and the flavors that envelop the palate, in a coexistence of elegant harmonies, clear and pure.
