Zardini Pietro
Pietro Zardini is a winemaker closely tied to the territory of Valpolicella. He belongs to a family of winemakers for five generations, owning a small vineyard in the village of San Floriano since the early 1900s. Strong from this long family tradition and passionate about viticulture, Pietro started an independent production in 2000, at just 19 years of age, born from the desire to "make wine with my own hands" following the most authentic traditions of the territory. The winery is dedicated to his namesake grandfather while the most important Amarone is dedicated to his father Leone, both masters of culture and passion for the land. Today Pietro is an independent winemaker, considered among the youngest and brightest producers in Veneto.
The Pietro Zardini winery spans about 7 hectares of vineyard around the historic Corte Zardini in San Floriano. The young winemaker meticulously and passionately follows every aspect of production, from pruning in the vineyard to bottling. His production is characterized by impeccable stylistic rigor, obtained through a traditionalist approach not lacking in creativity. After several years of experimentation, for example, the practice of aging in terracotta amphorae was inaugurated, especially for the production of Recioto.
The wines of Pietro Zardini are characterized, as the most authentic tradition of the territory requires, by high concentrations and density, maintaining an elegant freshness and excellent drinkability. The taste-olfactory balance marks all the produced labels; a balance achieved with passion and dedication starting from the meticulous selection of high-quality grapes. The very close bond with the family vineyard, the experience gained over the years, and the desire to carry on the best traditions make Pietro one of the most interesting winemakers in the area, whose style is capable of setting trends and standing out with character and personality among the highest expressions of Valpolicella.
