Apresenta-se com uma cor rubi escura límpida, marcada por nuances granadas, e explode no olfato com aromas de laranjas vermelhas, violetas frescas, morangos maduros, ervas mediterrânicas e ecos florestais, enquanto no paladar é austero e sedoso, com uma vibrante salinidade.
The Brunello di Montalcino “Amore e Magia” is a true thoroughbred, an exciting and austere portrait of one of the best Italian terroirs. The Montalcino area has enjoyed exponential fame growth in recent decades, although in our opinion not all local interpretations tell the story of the area as authoritatively as that of Riccardo Illy, owner of Podere le Ripi, and a sensitive connoisseur of that unspoiled heritage in the municipality of Castelnuovo dell'Abate. In the vineyard, work is done with passion, dedication, and a constant eye on yields and planting density, so much so that one finds oneself in front of one of the densest vineyards in the world. Great concentration of fruit therefore, but a style that never exaggerates this component, giving us pure, solid, and powerful liquids. Among the greatest Italian reds.
“Amore e Magia” Brunello di Montalcino from Podere le Ripi is produced with pure Sangiovese Grosso grapes, with vineyards located in Castelnuovo dell'Abate, on the southeast side of the denomination, which rest on clay-limestone soils. In the vineyard, as already mentioned, efforts are made to limit treatments, and maintain high planting densities. In the cellar, spontaneous alcoholic fermentation continues in oak barrels and long macerations on the skins. Aging for 36 months in large oak barrels, 8 months in cement, and 12 months in bottle.
The wine “Amore e Magia” presents itself in the glass with an enchanting deep ruby hue and garnet edges. A pulsating nose of extraordinary complexity made of jammy strawberries, wilted violets, incense, spices, and a slight toasting. A dynamic liquid that is obviously capable of further evolving after adequate aeration. On the palate, the wine is filling and powerful, perfectly smooth and balanced between flesh, freshness, and a saline vein. An experience.
