It is a classic and elegant version that well expresses the fresh and refined character of the reds that come from the Montosoli area, on the northern slope of Montalcino. It is a bottle of particular value, to be tasted on a special evening, with a Florentine steak or a Chianina tagliata.
The Brunello di Montalcino is produced by a historic winery in the area. The Cencioni family has managed the Capanna estate since 1957. The vineyards are cultivated in the famous cru of Montosoli, which is located at an altitude of about 300 meters above sea level, with a southeast exposure. The soils are predominantly clay-based, very rich in stones and skeleton. The climate is cool and breezy, with good temperature variations between day and night. The fermentation takes place in Slavonian oak truncated cone tanks at controlled temperature, with a maceration on the skins of about a month. The wine matures for about 40 months in Slavonian oak barrels and completes the aging in bottle before being put on the market.
