The Pinot Grigio from Feudi di Romans is a Friulian white produced from a grape variety of French origin, which is experiencing a moment of remarkable commercial success in Italy, but especially in foreign markets. The choice of vinification exclusively in steel highlights its innate expressive richness, made of intense, soft, and enveloping aromas. A wine that conquers the palate with its elegant expressive harmony and its tasting persistence.
The white Pinot Grigio from Feudi di Romans is the fruit of a land that had never been valued from a winemaking perspective until after World War II. The idea of planting the vineyard near the banks of the Isonzo River is credited to the intuition of Federico Lorenzon. It is a very sunny area with a temperate climate, influenced by the breezes of the nearby Adriatic Sea. The soils, consisting of ancient river deposits of pebbles and sands, have proven perfect for the cultivation of white grape varieties, which manage to express themselves with wines characterized by remarkable finesse and elegance. At the end of the soft pressing, the free-run must is allowed to decant at low temperature for a night and then fermented with selected yeasts at a temperature of 18 °C for about 10 days. The wine then rests on its own yeasts in a steel tank for 3 months before being bottled.
The Pinot Grigio from Feudi di Romans is a soft and fruity white, which thanks to its good structure and aromatic persistence, pairs very well with first courses, risottos with vegetables or delicate white meats. In the glass, it presents a bright straw-yellow color, with slight greenish reflections. On the nose, it opens with aromas of white flowers, herbaceous nuances, aromas of white fruit, and acacia honey. The taste is broad and juicy, with rich and slightly aromatic fruit that unfolds harmoniously towards a persistent finish with great tasting balance.
