Colle Florido

Colle Florido is a small winery located in Spoltore, on the hills of Pescara, immersed in an extraordinarily rich ecosystem, full of resources and different cultivations: vineyards, gardens, olive groves, arable land, woods, and much more. It was founded by Andrea Ugolotti together with his partner Daniela and is managed with great passion and artisan spirit. Andrea was a leading sommelier in fine dining, having worked in important restaurants across Europe, before retreating to the Abruzzo countryside to indulge a visceral love for the land.

The vineyards of Colle Florido consist of 4 hectares located in the hilly areas of Pianella, Castellana di Pianella, and Moscufo. This small property is cultivated according to a environmentally friendly agriculture that respects both the environment and humanity, with cover crops and low treatments of copper and sulfur. The Montepulciano plants are 25 years old while the Trebbiano ones reach 40 years. The winemaking facility is located in the small manor house owned by Daniela's family.Daniela and includes fermentation tanks and old exhausted barrels. The grapes are hand de-stemmed and fermentation takes place with whole unpressed berries in containers of steel, wood, and cement, without temperature control. Fermentation occurs spontaneously with indigenous yeasts, the addition of sulfur is minimal or none, and no fining or filtration is performed. Strong from the advice and teachings of important winemaker friends like Carlo Tabarrini and Marino Colleoni, Andrea is the proponent of a very artisanal high-quality production.

The wines of Colle Florido arise from a direct and sustainable approach in the vineyard and from a spontaneous and traditional vinification. It is a small production with a rustic and territorial style, of great character. Starting from Montepulciano and Trebbiano grapes, only two labels are produced, born from a magical and generous territory from which wines of remarkable emotional impact arise.
