Fin del Mundo is an interesting reality of Argentine wine, which as the name suggests, is located right at the end of the world, in the distant and wild lands of Patagonia, the southern peninsula of the South American continent, stretching towards Cape Horn and Antarctica. A fascinating and still virgin land, which has proven to be ideal for viticulture. The project was born in 2002 at the initiative of the Eurnekian family, who manage the famous Karas Wines winery in Armenia. Juliana Del Aguila Eurnekian, at the helm of the company, decided to embark on this fascinating journey from the slopes of Mount Ararat, a legendary place that witnessed the birth of vine and wine culture, to Argentina. An exciting adventure from the other side of the globe to… the end of the world.
The Bodega Fin del Mundo is located in San Patricio del Chañar, in the province of Neuquén, in the heart of Patagonia. A desert land with a sunny climate characterized by extreme temperature variations between the warm daytime temperatures and the very cold nighttime temperatures, which exceed 20 °C.night, which exceed 20 °C. Silence and wind dominate undisturbed in an unbounded region with infinite horizons, opening up to natural landscapes of extraordinary beauty. The winery was born precisely from the suggestion of a fascinating land and the desire to transfer the characteristics of the territory into the wine: its clear and shining brightness, its biting and refreshing wind, the vegetation rich in herbs and spontaneous shrubs. A unique ecosystem, still based on a natural balance of millennia of history and never altered by the presence of man.
The lands are dry and arid, predominantly composed of sands, and the vine needs a rescue irrigation system, fed by the waters of the nearby Neuquén river, to survive in these extreme conditions, so that it can overcome the driest periods without suffering from water stress. The wind helps keep the bunches always dry, allowing them to ripen healthy and rich in aromas.intense, elegant, rich, and complex wines. The style of the winery perfectly combines Argentine tradition with a modern approach to winemaking and offers a range of labels of absolute value.
