Giacosa Bruno
The story of Bruno Giacosa goes back a long way: a story of sacrifices and great wines. It all begins during World War II, when Bruno, just fifteen, leaves school and starts working alongside his father Mario, in the winery founded by his grandfather Carlo in 1900. Remembering those early moments, Bruno recently recounted: "I was a boy then, and so I didn't drink wine, but I immediately had a good nose, in the sense that I understood that by paying attention to the aromas that come out first by eating the grapes during harvest time, then tasting the fermenting must, and then the wine, you can understand almost everything you need."
Passion and enthusiasm drive Bruno, who learns with humility all the secrets of the trade. Initially, the Giacosa family's winery vinifies only grapes purchased from suppliers, chosen from the best producers of the Langhe. But it will only be in 1982, with Bruno's purchase of the Falletto vineyard in Serralunga, that the production of the prestigious Barolo Falletto will begin; in 1996 he will acquire the cru Asili and Rabajà, now well-known for producing unforgettable Barolo and Barbaresco.
as they give life to unforgettable Barolo and Barbaresco.Bruno Giacosa's love for great wines and his meticulous search for perfection allow no compromises: quality must be absolute. If, for example, the vinification of a vintage does not meet his criteria, the wine is not bottled! Only thanks to a virtuous and traditional approach in the vineyard and in the winery and this strict selection do Bruno Giacosa's wines always prove to be sublime and incomparable, known all over the world and hailed by experts and critics as among the best expressions of the Langhe.
