Cantina Valle Isarco
The Cantina Valle Isarco, in German Eisacktaler Kellerei, is an important cooperative reality that has written the history of wine in Alto Adige. It was founded in 1962 by 24 winemaker members led by Anton Gfader, the first director of the cooperative. Over the decades, this reality played an essential role in enhancing viticulture in what is now considered one of the most vocated areas of the region, providing an important economic outlet for many small winemakers. Today, the winery can count on the collaboration of about 130 members spread across 11 municipalities, for a total of 150 hectares of vineyards.
The Valle Isarco is a very variable and complex territory, with altitudes that can range from 350 to 950 meters. The soils are often rocky and rich in minerals, exposed to beneficial alpine breezes, optimal sun exposure, and strong temperature fluctuations. Under the guidance of the young and passionate winemaker Hannes Munter, attention is paid to the work of each individual member supplier, offering support and collaboration in order to obtain excellent raw materials.Unlike in the past, production is now focused on white wines, characterized by great elegance, minerality, and freshness. This is the hallmark of all the labels produced, which have become a reference point for wine lovers around the world also due to the excellent quality/price ratio at which they are offered.
The wines of Cantina Valle Isarco are among the best representatives of the territory: they possess intensity, body, character, and elegance. The "Aristos" line stands out for quality and prestige and includes all the white grape varieties of the territory cultivated at the highest altitudes: Muller Thurgau, Riesling, Kerner, Sylvaner, Veltliner, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Bianco, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon, and Chardonnay. Many varieties expressed in a single style, unmistakably Alto Adige and certainly excellent.
