La Roncaia is a renowned winery in the Colli Orientali of Friuli, founded in 1998 by the Fantinel family in Cergneu di Nimis, starting from the acquisition of an estate with a thirty-year history. The La Roncaia winery has masterfully interpreted the highly vocated territory of the gentle hilly ridges of the Colli Orientali, characterized by clay and marl soils known as “flysch”. Among the excellences, the sweet wines of Friuli and the prestigious expressions of the Ramandolo denomination stand out, interpreted by the winery with great authority. The cultivated grape varieties are predominantly indigenous, such as Refosco, Friulano, and Ribolla Gialla, but international varieties like Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, perfectly acclimatized to these hills, are also present. In the winery, favor controlled temperature fermentations in steel, and any aging is carried out slowly in oak barrels.
