Lo Zoccolaio
Lo Zoccolaio is located in the Langhe and manages an estate in Bricco di Barolo, in the area that rises from the historic village of Barolo towards the municipality of Monforte d'Alba. The heart of the estate is a typical Piedmontese farmhouse, named after the fact that it once belonged to a craftsman who produced wooden clogs. It is a reality with a traditional face, faithful to the ancient customs of the territory. The hilly area of the Langhe has always been famous for its great wines, thanks to particularly favorable pedoclimatic conditions for grape cultivation. The vineyards are part of the landscape and outline its features, characterizing its appearance in an unmistakable way.
The Lo Zoccolaio estate covers a total of 30 hectares, of which about half is cultivated with Nebbiolo, the true flagship grape of the Langhe, and the rest with Barbera, Dolcetto, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Pinot Nero. The vineyards are located in some of the most beautiful and renowned areas of the denomination, with prestigious plots in the municipality of Barolo, in Ornate in Monforte d'Alba, in Verduno, and in the locality of Ravera in Novello. The sunny exposures, almost all facing south, and the mild, cool, and always breezy climate allow Nebbiolo to reach perfect ripeness at harvest, with a fine and intense aromatic heritage, an essential prerequisite for producing great wines with a typically territorial face.
