Piccini

Piccini is one of the most commercially important family-run businesses in Italy, owning several established brands scattered throughout the peninsula. At the core of the Piccini family's business, active since as far back as 1882 in the wine sector, is the Piccini 1882 brand, a key player in Chianti production. The historic headquarters located in Castellina in Chianti, in the Chianti Classico region, was joined in 2020 by a new modern winery, located near Casole d'Elsa, west of the city of Siena. At the helm of the business today is the fourth and fifth generation of the Piccini family, adept at pursuing the entrepreneurial spirit that has always distinguished the members of the family, an essential element in the brand's success on a national and international level. Over the years, the Piccinis have in fact been constantly engaged in expanding the vineyard park, acquiring new properties and modernising technology in the agronomic and oenological fields, all with the aim of satisfying their customers' expectations. Today, the Piccini family's brands include Fattoria di Valiano, Tenuta Moraia, Villa al Cortile, Torre Mora and Regio Cantina, in addition to the aforementioned Piccini 1882.

Within its extensive vineyard estate, managed according to organic farming principles, the Piccini family raises both traditional Tuscan varieties, such as Sangiovese, Malvasia Nera, Vermentino and Malvasia, as well as international varieties, such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Syrah. The materials used during vinification and ageing are also very diverse and include stainless steel tanks, cement vats, terracotta amphorae and wooden barrels of different capacities and types. The choice of wine container is then always adapted to the characteristics of the grape and the oenological objective.

Today, the Piccini produce more than 16 million bottles a year, exported to every corner of the globe as ambassadors of Tuscan-ness and, more generally, Italian-ness.
